Product Description
Single-head Elbow Beveling Machine
Working Principle
The single-head elbow beveling machine utilizes cold milling cutting technology. The elbow workpiece is securely clamped and positioned on the machine base. A single servo-driven cutting head with carbide inserts rotates around the elbow port. By setting the bevel angle, root face, and cutting feed parameters, the tool removes metal material in controlled passes to machine outer bevels, inner bevels, and end face trimming. This cold cutting process eliminates thermal deformation, producing weld-ready bevel profiles for elbow ends.
Advantages
  • Cost-effective & Compact Structure: Lower investment cost compared to multi-head CNC bevelers. Small footprint with easy installation and maintenance, making it ideal for small and medium pipe fitting workshops.
  • High Machining Precision & Smooth Surface: Cold cutting produces uniform bevel angles and consistent root faces. No oxide layer or grinding burrs. Elbow end face flatness meets welding standards, reducing welding defects and rework.
  • Wide Material & Size Adaptability: Processes carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel elbows. Supports V, U, J, and double-V bevel forms for different welding requirements. Flexible parameter adjustment for various elbow diameters and wall thicknesses.
  • Simple Operation & Low Labor Threshold: After elbow loading and clamping, the machine runs automatically. Operators require only basic training. One worker can manage multiple units.
  • No Heat-affected Zone: Pure mechanical cold cutting preserves the elbow's metallographic structure, avoiding thermal softening or hardening of the base material. Safer operation than flame cutting.
Limitations
  • Only one elbow end can be machined per cycle. The workpiece requires manual repositioning to process the second port, resulting in lower throughput than double-head models for mass high-volume orders.
  • For ultra-large and heavy elbows, repeated re-clamping may require extra alignment work to guarantee concentricity.
  • Continuous heavy-duty long-cycle production is not recommended; compared to multi-head equipment, it has lower efficiency for large-batch elbow fabrication lines.
  • Manual workpiece flipping is required between two ends, slightly increasing auxiliary operation time.
